Letter written from region near Knoxville, Tennessee, reporting his doubts about the recovery of a wounded soldier and commenting on fall of Confederacy and losses and damages sustained by South Carolina. Leoman writes, "what a pitable plight the great Braggert South Carolina ... had she made even ever so little a struggle there would have been some respect for her, but I trust in Gods name that she may be wiped out as a State & when rehabilitated as a State that it may be under some other name."
